Excalibur -Side By Side- by CycloneX3 Excalibur -Side By Side- by CycloneX3
This was a project that I gave myself during my photoshop schooling time. It was a little after I first started learning photoshop. I decided to take out the words, so just the fightercraft was there. All in all, it took about a week of very careful manipulation. Lotsa clone tool here folks. 8)

This is a side-by-side so you can compare. The bottom is the original scan I started with. The top is the finished product. Please view it through the Download tab so you can see the full detail.

By the way. The Jet is a VF Excalibur Type from the Anime series Macross Plus. In this case, the scan is from the Video Game instruction booklet for Macross Digital Mission VF-X. A Japan only, video game for Playstation 1.

All hail Macross and it's infinite AWESOME!

That's a very impressive fix on a very garbled image.

Great PhotoShop work here! It looks way better than the original.

The jet reminds me a little of a design of mine. What do you think?

Thank you very much! Interesting! Did you know that the germans created some bastardized test bombers back in the day? Very cool. Called the Junkers Ju 287. Forward-swept wings are better at lower speeds though. As far as I know, the japanese did some studies on forward-swept wings, but I haven't heard of any aircraft made by them. I am not the best researcher though.

I didn't know about the Junkers Ju 287... very cool!

There was a McDonnal Douglas design a while back for something similar to the UCAV from the movie Stealth. (Never saw it, though) It was a variable geometry design that could go from forward swept, right angle, rear swept, or extreme forward swept where the wings are flush with the leading edge of the airframe.

Weeeeeeeee! :D

Thanks very much! Although I must point out, that I only took the picture, removed all the text and letters, and tried to make it look as good as I could. I did re-create quite a bit where I assumed what it looked like under all the japanese. I never really had a playstation1 but I asked If I could borrow the instruction book for that game from my friend, just so I could scan the picture and try to clean it up. I was thinking..."That's such a cool picture! Why on earth did they stick it behind all that text???"

I don't know if starscream has ever been this model of jet, but he's been so many different kinds over the years I've lost track! I have a model of him as a F-15 eagle sitting on top of my computer case right now!
